The President's Message

By Alan Resnick

Our Annual Fly-in has been moved to Nov. 01, 2003

We have a scheduling conflict on Oct. 18. With the FAA sport pilot update at Lakeland and the Fly-in at Fantasy of Flight all on the same day itappears many of our members want to be somewhere else. We have decided to postpone to Nov.01 and hope some more of our snowbirds will be back.
After deciding at the August members meeting to stop the field telephone service, the membership, at the September meeting, decided to arrange for emergency 911 service for the phone. The initial decision was to reduce our operating costs. The 911 services will be at a reduced rate.
Rex has been busy rolling the runways and Fred and Billie have been keeping the runways mowed. The field is in very good condition. We have a little more time now so remember to work on cleaning up the hangers.
The old Ford tractor has been sold to one of our more industrious members, Rick Nutt. Now we can pay off Bill's generous loan. Our thanks to Billie, Rick and all of the contributors. The new Ford is doing a great job.

Fly safe
