The President's Message

By Alan Resnick

Fly-in has been rescheduled to December 13th.

See you there!!!!

The Annual Fly-in on Nov. 01 had to be cancelled for safety due to high winds. We had some planes brave the weather and come up from Lakeland South we also had a Hughes 300 in from Orlando Exec. Unfortunately, we just couldn’t fly the events with the high gusts. We will be rescheduling at the next meeting on the 8th.
The turnout at the FAA conference and the fly-in at Fantasy of Flight was very good. The FAA is not releasing a lot of detail on sport pilot but it is getting close to being released in its final form.
Robbie Robinson has under gone open heart surgery on Wednesday the 22nd of October. We all pray for his swift recovery.
Last Monday the 13th we lost Bill Austin. After landing his Challenger at the field Bill got out of the plane walked around a while then collapsed. At the time Jim Holbrook and Richard Lovel from the Southern Ultralight Flyers were at the field to purchase Richard Stevens plane. Jim preformed CPR while Richard went to our neighbors to call for Fire Rescue. Sadly, Bill was not revived. Bill was buried in New York on Saturday the 18th. He is survived by his two children. It was requested that donations be sent to Spina Bifida Assoc. of  West New York, P.O. Box 50, Williamsville, N.Y. 14231 in lieu of flowers. We will all miss Bill Austin.

Fly safe
