MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAY'S TO ALL.

Our re-rescheduled annual fly in will be held on Dec. 13^th.

The day will be our usual flying events and burgers and hotdogs will be served. Hopefully Dave Lepo will get the “bowling “ event debuted. We will not be having a banquet in the evening. The weather should be calmer and we’re hoping for a very good turn out.

At the Dec. 06^th. Meeting, the board of directors voted to increase the “Annual Membership” fee to $60.00 per year. Please remember to mark your check “membership fee” as opposed to “hanger fee”. It will help Krystal keep everything straight. The monthly hanger fee remains at $70.00 per month.

Fred Griffith got to view an interesting sight a couple of weeks back. It isn’t often anyone gets to see an F-16 intercept an aircraft that has violated a TFR area. The President was at Disney and was surrounded by a 30-mile diameter TFR. A pilot fling from the south got a little too close. He was escorted to Leesburg airport and interviewed by the sheriff. He was not arrested but he will be hearing from the FAA. You all know what that means. In these new times we must pay attention to TFR’s, not only that but the bombing range has been shut down in Puerto Rico. The ranges to our north and south are much more active. It is in your best interest to call 1-800- WX-BRIEF to see what’s going on. After listening to the automated talk you will get to a real person, you should give them an “N” number [they need it to help justify their existence, for funding] mine is 696FT. You do not have to ask for a weather brief, just ask for TFR’S and range activity. The briefer is quite helpful.

The field telephone has been ordered to be turned on for 911 service but is not working as of this writing.

Charlie Almond is looking for a used [reconditioned] laptop to load a booking program [Quick Books] on to assist Krystal with her tasks.

The January meeting has been moved to the 10^th to keep the New Years weekend free. At the January meeting there will be the election of club officers. The nominations for officers are open, please remember to attend.
