At the June club meeting,
Treat Rayner, our V.P., announced that he had come across a tractor that
was for sale with a bush hog and box blade attachments included It is a
1985 Ford 19 hp diesel in very good condition for $3000 00, At the Board
of Directors meeting we discussed the condition of our 2 tractors. The
Massy, which is running, but needs some minor work, is the one we usually
pull the bush hog with. The Ford. which we mow with, is in need of some
major work The Board decided to see what the membership thought

At the members meeting an
in-depth discussion was held covering the existing tractors and the
possible purchase of the newer Ford The membership decided to approve the
purchase. Billy Owens volunteered to loan the Club the money to make the
purchase. The Club is financially solvent. but does not have the money
available for this purchase The membership also decided to voluntarily
assess all Members a minimum of $30.00. Donations of greater amounts are
always appreciated. So far, the Club has raised $500.00 towards repaying
the loan. The minimum assessment will not fully cover the cost of the
purchase, so I would like to ask those who are able to exceed the $30.00
minimum.

Treat contacted me on
Tuesday, the 18th, to let me know that the purchase had been made and we
will be picking the tractor up on Saturday, the 21st |
I speak for everyone in
thanking Billy for his generosity There is no doubt about the need for the
tractor and the cost is well below the market value We will be publishing
the names of all the donors in the newsletter. PLEASE mark all donations
for the "Tractor Fund''. |
Around the field, I am still
in the process of putting my Buc I I back together with Searay straight
gear legs and Fred Griffith has started putting his Mallard back together.
Hopefully, we will be back in the air in a few more weeks. |
