The President's Message

By Alan Resnick

At the August club meeting, we reviewed the purchase of the tractor. Donations so far have reached a little over $1,400.00. That only leaves $1,600.00 to go.
Please remember the membership voted on a voluntary assessment of a minimum $30.00 for all members. With 70 members x $30.00 that only equals $2.100.00. That does leave us a little short. So let's remember the $30.00 is a minimum figure. Remember to mark your check "Tractor Fund".
Again we are thankful to Billy Owens for loaning us the money so we could make the purchase before someone beat us to it.
The tractor is already getting a workout. With all the rain we are having, the pond is back up to normal
REMEMBER to put your hanger poles down and SECURE them. They do their best holding the roofs down during our afternoon sprinkles
After the August meeting we were going to have a WORK PARTY to construct a cover for the Massy tractor. It turned out we had to reschedule to Sunday. We now have a cover for the bush hog. Thanks to Chaz Almond and Billy Owens for their hard work
The BOARD of DIRECTORS has been reviewing the clubs financial condition for the last 3 months. I asked Krystal Ericsson, our Treasurer, to put together financial statements for 2001, 2002 and this year. After an extensive review and discussion, the Board has voted to seek membership approval for an increase in our fees. The membership has approved an increase in hanger fees to $70.00 per month, effective September 1, 2003. No change has been made to the annual membership fee. If you choose to pay your hanger fee on an annual basis, you still get twelve months for the price of eleven
This increase has been brought about because we have not increased our fees for approximately eight years, and our expenses have been going up annually. We have also voted to remove the clubhouse telephone, saving us approximately $300.00 per year. We feel that there is sufficient coverage with the cell phones that are available
Please remember that the new fees are effective SEPTEMBER 1, 2003. The basic hanger fee is now $70.00, with an additional charge of $5.00 if you have an air conditioner. The $3.00 electric fee has been dropped. All fees are due on the FIRST of the month. A $25.00 penalty will be assessed on late payments
