Treat has filled in for me this month with a great recap of the meeting. To start the year on the right foot, we had a flight to Cedar Key, 6 planes, Cindy Butler, Richard Johnson with Fred Griffith, Dave & Lori Lepow, Scott Garrett, Fritz Brian & I. Perfect weather and an absolutely great flight. We did check flight service for TFR's. There were none around Crystal River but we stuck to the river and then swung out around and through the off shore islands. We had a great lunch and then Cindy and Lori enjoyed the shoppiing while the rest of us watched the pelicans on the pier. It doesn't get much better. |

We had a great club meeting with a good turnout for a cold January morning. The new/old board members have been voted in for another year. Billy Owens told the group about his flight on December 17th 2003 to commemorate the Wright Brother's achievement one hundred years ago. We voted in a new member named Peter Taylor. He is a GA pilot with over 100hrs but only a few minutes in light aircraft. Robie Robinson came to the meeting and gave us an update on his progress. He is looking better and stronger every time we see him. Max and Neil Allegree where not at the meeting but I have spoken to Neil about their hard landing. He said they are still a little sore but should be back to normal in a couple months. Fred Griffith and Bob Johnson have made tremendous progress on Bob's 582-powered SX. It looks like Bob is going to have a brand new plane when he goes home at the end of the month. I would like to thank all who attended the January meeting and I appreciate everyone's input. |
