We had a good day flying on Saturday May 1st. The winds were up some so instead of going to Cedar Key we opted for breakfast at Ocala followed by a stop at the Crystal River airport. On the way into Crystal River, we flew over the estuary and saw some manatee and dolphins. Besides stopping for fuel at Crystal River, there is a gate on the Northwest side of the field which allows access to a Dairy Queen. We all enjoyed refreshments on a hot day! With 6 planes and 11 people (Alan Resnick, Charles & Fran Cantrill, Vern Peckham, Tom Yowell, Scott & Janis Garrett, Skip Merrill & Susan, Randy & Colby), it was a fun flying day. Returning to Gator Field, the monthly meeting was held at 5:00 PM. The turnout was light so we have opted to hold the Monthly Meetings at 10:00 AM. We discussed the fly-in on MAY 8th--WE WILL NEED HELP. Our EAA friends will be serving breakfast at about 8:00 AM. Dennis Day has advised that the hog population has been reduced by 2 so we will have fresh pork bar-b-que! Plus our usually great hot dogs and burgers. We look forward to some great flying events! Here’s a list of upcoming events:
