Expo 2006
Because of Wilma this event was proponed until January 2006, and it seems the venders were delighted to come to Florida after the storms and a welcome break from the cold up north. The decision was made it will now be every January, it turned out to be a good vendors show lots of aero planes were sold and a lot of interest shown, I did not see anything I hadn’t seen before, and demo flights unlike the action like we have been used too just isn’t there any more occasionally a plane would fly and it seemed the same ole same ole few, so there was not flight line of spectators, its not an air show, what flew were demo flights. I did not do a good job and could kick myself, but the day prior to the show opening, I suddenly felt a chill run through me, the result I did what I could then straight back to the hotel and bed each day, getting rid of whatever it was two days after the show was over. It was good on my expenses I eat one meal out. Wednesday till Monday so only had gas to buy. So. One show down. One to go, and Oblivion. What a scary thought The venders need to take a more active part in their demo flights and come to the tower and talk about there planes, they were invited but only two came. And announcers can’t know all about their planes learning at the same show as they see them for the first time Being an Ultralighter the prices were out of sight, not really, they are airplanes not vehicles. In my view this could be a success at a ceiling of sixty thousand, and I could see Cessna being in this market for about a hundred thousand, well $99.999 they all fall for that. From the showing the money is there, seemed no doubt about that, and to me it looked like the guys who showed the most interest was maybe flying on a driving license attractive. The number of planes that flew in to see the show was an out standing success, an air show in itself |
